The Consortium was established to support the building of integrity and reducing of corruption in the security sector

 

Representatives of the five civil society organizations and four institutions of higher education on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which was established to support the Consortium for building integrity and reducing corruption in the security sector. The consortium was established in the framework of the project "Building Integrity and strengthen anti-corruption practices in the security sector - ACroSS" implemented by the Centre for Security Studies, and financially supported by the European Union.

 

Organizations and institutions that signed the Memorandum of Understanding are:

  • Center for Security Studies (Sarajevo)
  • European Defendology center (Banja Luka)
  • Faculty of Criminology and Security Studies, University of Sarajevo (Sarajevo)
  • Research Center  – Think Tank (Banja Luka)
  • New security initiatives (Sarajevo)
  • Faculty of Law, University of Bihać (Bihać)
  • The Association for Social Development and Crime Prevention (Mostar)
  • College „CEPS – Center for bussines studies“ (Kiseljak)
  • College  „Logos Center“ (Mostar)

 

The Secretary General of the Centre for Security Studies, Dr. Sc. Denis Hadžović welcomed the willingness of civil society and the academic community to support and participate in the implementation of project activities, as well as readiness to support the security sector in the fight against corruption.

 

The signing of the Memorandum was preceded by the presentation of the project, its present and future activities, as well as the presentation of the "methodology of establishing anti-corruption capacity - anti-corruption index for monitoring of public procurement in the security sector". For start, the Consortium, whose strategic goal is to build integrity and reduce corruption in the security sector, will support the implementation of the project "ACroSS".

 

Potpisivanju Memoranduma je predhodilo predstavljanje projekta, njegovih dosadašnjih i budućih aktivnosti, te predstavljanje „Metodologije utvrđivanja antikorupcijskih kapaciteta – antikoruptivni indeks za monitoring javnih nabavki u sektoru sigurnosti“. Za početak Konzorcij, čiji je strateški cilj izgradnja integriteta i smanjenje korupcije u sektoru sigurnosti, podržat će implementaciju aktivnosti projekta „ACroSS“.
